Zama Kunene is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 12 years of experience providing evidence-based mental health care to individuals, couples, and families. She earned a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2010 and an Honours Degree in Psychology from the same institution in 2011. In 2013, she began her Master’s studies at the University of Zululand, completing the qualification in 2017. Her internship was conducted at the Behavioural Medicine Complex, where she worked at both King Dinuzulu Hospital Complex and Addington Hospital in Durban. She fulfilled her community service at Nkonjeni Hospital in Ulundi and was employed at Hlabisa Hospital from January 2019 to July 2023.

She is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF), which ensures adherence to established standards of professionalism and ethical practice. Trained in multiple therapeutic approaches, she applies a holistic methodology by integrating diverse frameworks to deliver individualized care. Her practice is characterized by a supportive environment that encourages clients to engage in meaningful change and pursue emotional well-being.

She welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds and is committed to fostering an inclusive and collaborative therapeutic environment. She regularly participates in professional development activities, including workshops and conferences, to remain informed about current research and best practices in psychology.
